Visit Hauraki Gulf Islands

Sea Fury Charters is warranted by the Department of Conservation and Auckland Council to visit the pest-free Treasure Islands of the Hauraki Gulf.

We have concessions in place to use the wharves at Rangitoto Island, Motutapu Island, Motuihe Island, Rakino Island, Kawau Island (at Mansion House Bay) and Great Barrier (Aotea) Island.

We can provide private transfer services, or you can add an island visit onto your fishing charter or harbour tour.

We run a biosecurity system on our boat that meets the criteria to hold a ‘Pest-Free Warrant’ for the Hauraki Gulf.  To protect the pest-free status of these islands, there are important biosecurity precautions that we require our clients to take.

Please arrive at our vessel prepared to go to a pest-free island by doing the following:

  • While packing, please check your bags for stowaways, such as mice, rats, argentine ants and/or rainbow skinks (to name a few).
  • Once packed, every bag or container must be sealed, taped shut or zipped closed. No open bags or boxes will be allowed on board.
  • Any food must be packed in rodent-proof/ sealed containers i.e. hard plastic.
  • Ensure your footwear, clothing and bags are clean and free of soil and seeds.

If you have any doubts or questions about your packed items, please ask a Sea Fury Charters staff member.
